Before we get started please note this is NOT the LSWA (Louisiana Sportswriters Association) all state team but solely Louisiana Girls Rankings thoughts. Again with our platform we are only trying to help keep the conversation going about OUR girls so this is just another way of doing that. Each day for the next ten days we will release an all state team for one of the divisions. This year we are starting from the lower classifications and working our way up. The best part about the Division V Select all state list is the the youth and not a single senior is listed so all of these talented young ladies will be coming back next year competing for a state championship! The all state selections for Division V Select classification is listed below:
Division V Select
MVP
Alexis Dyer - Oak Hill - Jr.
Alexis Dyer finished the season bringing the first ever state championship to Oak Hill as she scored 29 points and pulled down 14 rebounds on her way to the state tournament most outstanding player award. Alexis' game continues to improve over the years as coach ask her to score at a high level on offense and be the top of the press on defense setting the tone for her team on both ends of the court. All of her hard work is paying off as the once back to the basket post player is now extremely versatile and should be getting attention from college coaches because her new skill set will certainly translate to the next level. We're very impressed with the jump in her game she's made and can't wait to see what next season brings for Dyer and her Oak Hill teammates as they will now have the target on their back! Congratulations on a great junior season!
