Before we get started please note this is NOT the LSWA (Louisiana Sportswriters Association) all state team but solely Louisiana Girls Rankings thoughts. Again with our platform we are only trying to help keep the conversation going about OUR girls so this is just another way of doing that. Each day for the next ten days we will release an all state team for one of the divisions. The Division II Select gave us the matchup in the state championship we all thought we could see as LCA and St. Louis Catholic both were two time defending state champs after LCA moved up a classification. This division is a star studded group with a great list of future women's basketball college players!
The all state selections for Division II Select classification is listed below:
Division II Select
MVP
Jada Richard - Lafayette Christian Academy - Junior
It's truly crazy to think Jada Richard is still underrated when it comes to her skill set and ability to put the basketball through the hoop! The recent LSU signee has been doing the basketball thing for years now at a high level and its time she starts to garnish some national spotlight. Given her last couple of seasons and continued improvement it comes as no surprise that LSU decided to keep the top prospect in the state at home! The stage of Louisiana girls basketball is now in the hands of Jada Richard and if you have any young hoopers looking to play or fall in love with this game make sure you catch several LCA games next year as she'll be looking to score her 3,000th career point next season!

Coach of the Year: Errol Rogers / Lafayette Christian Academy
- Coach Rogers has now won three straight state championships at LCA and has made it look extremely easy at that. One thing I think he and his staff don't get enough credit for is how he gets his team to buy into the defensive side of the basketball! They set a record this year in the LHSAA semifinal game that has been around for forty plus years by holding their opponent to 13 points in the game! When you have a team as talented as LCA has been in years past it's impressive when a coach can get them all to buy into the little things it takes to be so great on the defensive end of the ball. Hats off to Coach Rogers and the dynasty they have built at LCA.
